Ecobuilt’s 100% biodegradable and compostable products are manufactured from sugar cane, plant starches and paper board sourced from managed plantations. Their packaging is a more sustainable option than traditional oil-based packaging made from non-renewable resources.
Agro fibre is a waste product of the Palm Oil Industry. The Palm Oil Industry generates approximately 15 million tonnes of waste agrofibre per year. Their manufacturing plant has a capacity of producing 6 million units per month and is expandable to triple the volume within a short period of time.
PLANTATIONS: Oil palm trees have been harvested for their valuable fruits for many years. After the fruit is harvested, the empty fruit bunches are repurposed to create the Ecobuilt range of biodegradable, compostable produce trays and other eco-friendly products.
HARVEST: Oil palm trees produce large fruit bunches containing up to 3000 fruitlets, which are harvested throughout the year. The fibrous masses from these bunches (EFB) were once incinerated, causing environmental harm. Today, these fibers are transformed into sustainable produce trays.
PRODUCTION: The versatile pulp is converted into robust and durable packaging solutions, such as the produce trays.
